Weekly, bi-weekly or one-time mowing with clean edges, tidy lines and debris cleanup every visit.
Lawn care done the same way, every time
Whether you need one-time grass cutting before hosting guests or a standing weekly lawn service all season, we treat every lawn the same way: mowed evenly, edges cut clean, and every bit of clippings blown off driveways and walkways before we leave.
Lawns we've mowed around Asheville
Mowing built around the Asheville growing season
Most lawns around Asheville are cool-season grass, usually tall fescue or a fescue blend, and that changes how they should be cut. Fescue puts on most of its growth in spring and again in early fall, then slows down through the hottest part of summer. A schedule that ignores that either leaves the grass shaggy in May or sends a crew out to cut almost nothing in August.
So we adjust two things through the season: how often we come, and how short we cut. Weekly mowing from roughly March through June keeps up with peak growth. In July and August we usually move to every other week and raise the deck, because taller grass shades its own roots and holds moisture when the lawn is under heat stress. Growth picks back up through September and October, then tapers off before the first frost.
Elevation matters here too. A lawn up in Fairview or Black Mountain can green up a week or two behind one down closer to the river in West Asheville, so we set your schedule off your yard instead of off a calendar.
What a mowing visit looks like
The same four steps every time, so you know exactly what you are paying for.
Mow
Even height across the whole lawn, with the direction changed between visits so the grass does not lean the same way every week.
Trim
String trimmer around fence lines, posts, trees and anything the mower cannot reach cleanly.
Edge
A hard edge along driveways, walkways and bed lines so the lawn has a defined border.
Blow
Every bit of clipping cleared off driveways, walks and patios before we leave.
What actually affects the price
We quote mowing per property instead of off a flat rate, because two half-acre lots in Asheville can take very different amounts of time. These are the things that move the number the most:
The estimate is free and in writing, and the price we quote for a recurring schedule is the price you pay each visit unless you ask us to add something.
Lawn care FAQ
How often should my lawn be mowed in Asheville?+
Most lawns in the Asheville area do well on a weekly mow during peak growing season (spring and early summer) and bi-weekly the rest of the year. We can recommend a schedule after seeing your yard.
Do you offer one-time mowing or only recurring plans?+
Both. We handle single mows for move-in/move-out or special occasions, and recurring weekly or bi-weekly service.
Is edging and cleanup included with mowing?+
Yes. Every mowing visit includes clean edges along walkways and driveways, plus blowing off clippings and debris.
What height do you cut at?+
For the tall fescue most Asheville lawns are planted in, we cut at about 3 to 3.5 inches for most of the year and raise it closer to 4 inches in midsummer. Cutting fescue short in July is the fastest way to end up with a thin, stressed lawn that weeds move into.
Do you bag the clippings or mulch them?+
We mulch clippings back into the lawn by default, since that returns nitrogen to the soil and is better for the grass. If the lawn is very overgrown or wet enough that clippings clump, we bag or blow them out so nothing smothers the turf.
What happens if it rains on my scheduled day?+
Western North Carolina gets afternoon storms through most of the summer, so we build some flex into the route. If we cannot safely cut your yard on its normal day, we come out the next dry day rather than skipping your week entirely.
Do you service commercial properties and HOAs?+
Yes. Along with houses we maintain small commercial lots, rental properties and HOA common areas around Asheville, usually on a weekly or bi-weekly contract with one invoice.
Related services
Most properties need more than one of these. We can bundle them into a single visit and a single estimate.
